Mr. Erdoğan, born in Hakkari in 1965, studied in the field of philosophy at the University of Hacettepe and in the area of public management in the Gazi University.

Mustafa Erdoğan was very interested in local dances both during and before his education in college and won many awards with the companies he worked for, in festivals and competitions held in and out of Turkey.

Achievements:

Establishing the Folk Dances Company of the Gazi University in 1985, he set up and instructed groups, particularly specialized in local and folkloric dances of regions, such as Edirne, Kirklareli, Artvin, Van, Bitlis, Hakkari, Gaziantep, Adiyaman, Diyarbakir, Mugla, and Aydin and joined competitions with them.

His studies in the Bilkent University in 1997 in the field of folk dances have been the first steps of the “Sultans of the Dance”.

From 1997 to 2000, he performed many works regarding adaptation, compilation and choreography of Anatolian folkloric dances and his researches in respect to these fields have been published by various media institutes.

During this period, he has been also employed as a choreographer in the “Istanbul-Gül Düsündürü” Playhouse and “Besiktas Kültür Merkezi”. Mr. Mustafa Erdoğan, who believed that private dance groups could only survive through being institutionalized when his interest in folk dances has increased, established in 1999 “SULTANS OF THE DANCE” that is the first private and greatest dance company of Turkey with the purpose of orienting these groups from a unique center and to provide the best education for them.
